Job Description

The E-Commerce Manager will plan and execute the corporate E-Commerce Strategy in collaboration with Marketing & Revenue guidelines. S/he should maximize opportunities on company websites, promotional microsites and other online distribution channels to achieve company’s revenue goals.  The successful applicant will also work to identify trends and opportunities for the company in new and emerging digital technologies.  S/he will be the primary point for hotels and other headquarters departments to engage with the E-Commerce Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • The E-Commerce manager is responsible for preparing, implementing and executing the E-Marketing business plan (with goals and strategies) and budget. 
  • Manage and develop the E-Commerce team both in headquarters and in hotels 
  • The E-commerce manager has full responsibility for prioritising projects and seeing these projects through from start to finish ensuring that deadlines are being met and that the projects stays within budget. Where it is not possible to establish an ROI s/he should critically review the processes and procedures of each project and try to improve efficiency by changing methods or tools used. 
  • Total responsibility for development and maintenance of content (in partnership with Brand Marketing and Regional Marketing Managers) of the Company’s brands, hotel, restaurant and supporting websites. 
  • Responsible for further developing existing, and identifying new, traffic and revenue generating initiatives. 
  • Improve search engine rankings by working with agencies and proven techniques such as search engine optimisation 
  • Actively develop and implement the search engine advertising strategy. 
  • Drive demand and improve conversion for the various transactional websites 
  • Improve market share of direct channels. 
  • Improve customer experience online and grow customer engagement. 
  • Develop strong commercial propositions and campaigns and market these through the appropriate websites and other owned media and third party channels, including but not limited to email newsletters, social media, display, advertising and affiliate networks 
  • Responsible for 3rd party supplier selection, price negotiations, budget management and project management. 
  • Develop new websites & blogs where and when needed. 
  • Oversee the translation process of the various websites to multiple languages. 
  • Manage all existing domain names and register relevant new domains. 
  • Prepare SOP & Marketing toolkits for offices / hotels from an E-Marketing perspective. 
  • Closely monitor industry and competitor initiatives and try to give the Company a competitive edge by identifying niche areas and opportunities. 
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of various supporting websites such as Intranets and other proprietary tools. 
  • Keeping management and hotels up-to-date on key e-marketing initiatives and sharing opportunities and success stories are also part of the responsibilities. 
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and ad hoc performance reports to all stakeholders and adjust activities and plans as necessary to achieve goals 
  • Support the wider marketing team and other areas of the business when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in e-marketing, preferably in international hospitality e-commerce 
  • Master or Bachelor degree in business or marketing 
  • Strategic planning and goal setting 
  • Excellent project management skills 
  • Strong commercial background with proven track record in online revenue generation 
  • Track record in managing teams 
  • Excellent command of English language
